About the event

Think about the last time you walked into work already running on empty. A difficult conversation the day before. A poor night's sleep. The morning rush. By the time you arrived, your nervous system was already stretched, and the day hadn't even started.

Now think about how that felt in your body, and how it showed up in the room.


As early childhood leaders, we know that the emotional climate of a service flows from the top. When we are regulated, we create safety. When we are dysregulated, even without meaning to, we create distance. The research is clear on this: our nervous systems are contagious. Co-regulation isn't just something we offer children. It starts with us.


The good news is that self-regulation is not a personality trait. It is a skill. And like any skill, it can be understood, practiced, and strengthened.
