A team reflective practice activity for early childhood leaders, educational leaders, and directors.

The Perception Exercise uses a classic perceptual illusion to create an immediate, personal experience of one of the most important insights in conscious leadership: we are all looking at the same reality, yet we each experience and interpret it differently. What we see is not objective truth — it is shaped by our values, beliefs, past experiences, and emotional state.

This 10–15 minute activity is designed for any size team, works in-person or online, and requires nothing more than pen and paper. It includes a full facilitator guide, step-by-step instructions, debrief questions, a neuroscience explainer, and a personal reflection sheet for participants.

Use it in team meetings, professional development days, staff inductions, or as a standalone reflective practice tool. It is grounded in conscious leadership principles and aligned with the National Quality Standard, particularly QA4, QA6, and QA7.

Ideal for educational leaders, room leaders, directors, and anyone responsible for leading reflective practice in early childhood settings.
